Local youth are being given the opportunity by the Shire of Augusta Margaret River to unleash their creative side through painting a mural on the old water tank above the White Elephant beach cafe.
Local artist Holly Emmerson guided the group through the artistic process with the aim of creating artwork depicting things of value to local youth whilst helping to develop their artistic skills.
The mural is intended to be a celebration of local youth culture and arts, and provides an opportunity for talented youngsters to showcase their works.
Community Development trainee Emma Godridge said “the mural will promote the natural beauty of the coastal landscape and will complement the existing landscape. Gnarabup is an iconic location for Margaret River youth and the water tank is a perfect place for youth to show how proud they are of the place in which they live.”
