And the most memorable moment so far has been… probably our EP launch in April. It was an amazing feeling to have our favourite venue in Perth filled with people we love and who love us in return, appreciating our music and what we have created up to this point. We wore feather headdresses my mum had made, smoke swirled at perfect moments between the songs, people danced but also listened intently… and to create an actual CD you can hold in your hands for the first time, well I guess it’s like your baby! On the other hand the numerous house parties we’ve played during the last year have been more wild and unforgettable than anything else…
Sometimes I look at reality TV (The Voice etc) and think… hmph.
When it’s all a bit hard, I wonder what… Jim Morrison would do.

Outside of music I… take photos, write poetry and stories, late-night dancing, paint pictures, theatre, dream darkly and have an immense collection of clothes and records. Amongst other things.
Describe your music… like wild witches dancing under the full moon in a dark and enchanted forest full of ancient stories and angry ghost creatures….but on Sunday it’ll be the ‘lively acoustic’, solo, sunshine version of this.
What I miss most about home is… no street lights, surfing, ancient trees, real stars, quiet places, farm animals, family.
And the first thing I like to do when I go back is… go for a huge walk and swim, whatever the weather. Have a joint. Followed by mum’s cooking.
Anyway, you can see me playing at… Settlers, Sunday 22 June. 3pm-6pm. Till then, visit… www.facebook.com/moanamusic to learn/hear more.
Oh and by the way… You look lovely.
